Where To Buy Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill

Okay, so I've ordered this machine but have not yet received it and therefore have not yet run on it. I just wanted to comment for those of you that don't know that this treadmill was rated as a "Best Buy" by Consumer Reports 02/06. The Bowflex 7 Series was given an "Excellent" rating in Quality, Exercise Range, and Ergonomics; and was rated "Very Good" for Ease of Use. (The highest marks for all fold up treadmills tested, and better than most of the nonfolding types). So, I'm thinking that for $1499 this will be as good as any of the $3000 model treadmills. Plus a free Bowflex mat, free shipping and no tax! Amazon has the best price that I've seen. I'll update this as soon as it gets here and I crank out a few miles :)Get more detail about Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill.

The 5 star rating is also because of the consumer reports review. I haven't received mine yet either and am rather nervous to have purchased something this big sight-unseen over the internet--so I'm really counting on the consumer reports review. I'll also update my review after I receive it.Get more detail about Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill.

Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill

I too am thinking about ordering this based on the recent Consumer reports rating. I wondered a few things:
When ordering this from amazon, did you have to assemble? And who did the treadmill actually come from (what company?)
Also what is you opinion so far on the treadmill.
Thanks a bunch.

Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill Review

update:
...so good... the machine is holding up well. one precaution i would make is before using the heart monitor handle sensors, make sure you discharge any built up static electricity you generated while running* by touching the side handlebars first -- you wouldn't want to end up with fried electronics like the guy above.
*my wife only walks and appears to have no problem with static.

received bowflex 7 last week - right on time. it's 300 lbs, so try to have delivered as close to where you're going to set it up. ass'y took about an hour - mostly from being careful, not because of difficulty. all tools provided but i would use a straight phillips head screwdriver instead of the "L" one provided.
solid construction. fairly intuitive. already loving it. hope it lasts.Get more detail about Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill.

Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill Top Quality

I read consumer reports looking for the best treadmill for someone other than a serious distance runner. This was the recommended machine. Its a bit pricey and you do have to do assemble it when it arrives, but its a great machine. It even has a built in fan. One caution, make sure to assemble it in the room where you want it to be and don't expect to be able to move it between rooms because when assembled its too wide for standard doorways. I ordered my Treadmill on March 7th, and it was scheduled to be delivered between April 7th, and April 25th. However, I received mine on March 30th, and I was pleasantly surprised. Two men had to bring it into my livingroom (delivered by Eagle Global Logistics). One of the delivery guys kept flirting with me, and although it was a bit flatting, I was also a bit unhappy about it (what kind of delivery guy keeps flirting?!? especially when I'm non-responsive). At any rate, I can't say that I was happy about Eagle logistics, especially considering that his shoes were very filthy and left three very large dark spots on my light beige carpet -- then decided to take off his shoes (I don't mean to be nitpicky and maybe I am a bit compulsive, but I keep everything in my home squicky clean and I like it that way!!).
I am a female, about 5'4" and 115Lbs, not big and muscular either. However, I've assembled the entire thing alone. Who needs a man?!?! haha. It was very heavy, but I managed to take it out of the box and push it right unto the spot where I wanted it, and even placed the mat underneath it. The mat is not very durable. While I was pushing the treadmill, it ripped on the side, very easily. Therefore, you have to be careful with the mat because it will rip! After I placed the bottom part of the treamill into place, I began assembling the handrails and the top part, which wasn't very difficult to do or figure out. You will need a good screwdriver, but for certain screws, it is good to also use the screwdriver enclosed. I used it to further tighten the screws, with a dish cloth on the other end in order to make it comfortable for my hands, and be able to add more pressure.
The only thing that was not automatically intuitive, was adding the red magnetic activation button in the right place. For a moment, I was trying to figure out where it needed to go, and the instructions did not provide for that small little detail, so I spent ten minutes wondering if I had assembled it wrong. Once you turn on the machine, it will say "Safe Out" and none of the buttons will work -- until you put the safety red button into the bottom part of the machine. Right between the heatrate monitor handles, there are three "dent" looking holes, you should place the red magnetic activation buttom into the middle one (and the magnet will keep it in place). Now you're set!
The machine is far more quieter than expected. My first concern was the noise, since my brother's $3.5K treadmill makes enough noise to wake me up in the mornings, I was concerned that this machine would make enough noise to wake my neighbors at 5:30 am, which is when I like to do my running. However, I was extremely happy to find out that the machine makes only half the noise my brother's machine makes. It is very quiet compared to most machines, especially the ones I've used at many health clubs. This treadmill is also very long (maybe longer than useful for me), but it's great for tall people. It is thinner and not as wide as most machines, or my brother's machine, but since I'm petite, I am not concerned about falling sideways.
The screen is not colorful and fancy as many healthclub machines, but it is definitely sturdy, stylish, and strong. It has enough power for a good run, but of course, does not replace going for a real run. Nevertheless, it works very well if you're home, and you're just doing a quick run throughout the day. It serves my purpose, especially when I'm too tired to drive to the gym (and when I drive to the gym I always do a full work-out since I'm already there).
All the buttons are very intuitively easy to use and I like the fact that the fan's right in the middle instead of the sides. Side fans usually don't send out enough air (or miss you completely), but this one is in the middle, so whether you're running close, or far from the center of the machine, you'd still get air. Side fans make you run in a certain position, and if you're not right on target, they miss you completely.
All in all, I love my machine and I don't write a lot of reviews, but I had to write one for this. I haven't had a problem with it so far, but I can guess that if I had to put it back into the box (which is almost completely mutilated), I'd be pretty annoyed. It is a 300lbs machine (almost three times my weight), and it was time consuming to assemble and put it in place -- since I did it solo. The instructions do recomment that two people assemble it, though... and it would be much easier too. Enjoy your machine!
